DESCRIPTION OF TOUR

Our fashion tour in Florence starts in Palazzo Pitti.

Florence is the world’s cradle of art in all its expressions. Did you know that in this city an absolute novelty was born? In fact,  Italian prêt-à-porter fashion started here!

In 1951  the Florentine trader Giambattista Giorgini organized the “First Italian High Fashion Show” at his private residence in Florence at Villa Torrigiani. He wanted Italian creations to compete with the consolidated French fashion. American buyers attended the show where Giorgini presented the greatest tailors of his times.

On this Fashion tour in Florence, you will visit Palazzo Pitti: Sala Bianca and the Costume Museum. We will then continue onto the Ferragamo Museum inside the Palazzo Spini Feroni, and, finally, the  Gucci Museum.  The latter is located inside the historic Palazzo della Mercatanzia, originally built as a justice court in 1359.

This tour will take about 4 hours and it can be customized upon request.
