Fashion tour in Florence: Palazzo Pitti
This renaissance Palace right in the city center of Florence played a key role in the history of modern fashion. Discover its stucco decorated White Room and learn about the iconic fashion shows of Emilio Pucci, Valentino, Missoni, and many more.

Palazzo Pitti
Power and splendor
Palazzo Pitti, a gigantic rustic ashlar structure lying on the slopes of the Boboli hill, is the largest of the Florentine palaces. In fact, it well testifies to the power of those who chose it as their representative palace.

White Room
A spectacular ballroom
It is the the largest ballroom in the entire Palace. Admire the high-relief stuccoes made between 1774 and 1776. The eleven Bohemian crystal chandeliers highlight the pastel white typical of stucco: pure pleasure for your eyes.

Pitti Uomo
Men's latest trends
It all started in 1972 and it still is the one of the world's majors fashion industry events. In 1975 Pitti Kid was added to the show and in 1977 Pitti Yarns.
The history of Prêt-à-Porter
Giovan Battista Giorgini organized the first fashion show in 1951, and he managed to bring Italian creativity into the spotlight. He challenged the status quo and introduced outfits and accessories for everyday life, as opposed to Haute Couture.

The first Italian fashion show
Florence, 1951
A dozen local artisans presented their clothes , 16 models each, and everything sold out!

Emilio Pucci
Ski outfits become fashionable
Pucci imagines the modern woman who dresses with easy and immediate clothes,. It is the expression of a new idea of fast, spontaneous and effortless elegance to put in the suitcase even at the last moment.
